Delivered under an NEC3 contract, the scheme included the construction of two new, two-storey primary schools on different sites, comprising Nursery and Reception provision, kitchen and a MUGA for community use.
RPP provided project management, quantity surveying and principal designer services and our team were instrumental in the innovative thinking that led to the reuse of cut and fill from one school site to
the other, reducing costs for the Council through the reduction of disposal and new material import costs.
The schemes achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and BB101-compliance through the use of natural ventilation and photo-voltaic panels, which provide a renewable energy source to the schools. These
systems complement the Fabric First design approach used.
