The first of three multi-sports hubs to be delivered as part of Bradford Council’s Sports Pitches Investment Programme, in partnership with Sport England, British Cycling and the Football Foundation.
The scheme has revitalised and expanded on the facilities at the former Wyke Manor High School in the south of the city. It included a new purpose-built community hub for visitors, as well as a permanent home for local sports clubs, including cycling and football and rugby teams.
The Sports Village features three new grass pitches, an all-weather 3G pitch, tarmac cycle track and cyclo-cross circuit, all served by a two-storey changing pavilion with community rooms and an external terrace for spectators.
EV charging is included for visitors using electric vehicles and the site is linked to the popular Route 66 national cycle network to allow visitors to arrive at site using pedal power.
